Cyclorama Wall

اين يك تعريف:

Cyclorama (cyc).

1. A large studio equipped with a floor to ceiling curtain. This curtain can drape down to the floor in a sweeping arc (concealing the gap between floor and wall) or can curve around the walls in a way which disguises any angles where the walls meet.

Such studio spaces are used to photograph models, large objects such as cars etc., as if they were floating in some undefined space. For this reason cyclorama curtains are usually white.

The first, the expensive way, is by using a cyclorama. This is an area, or a room, in which all corners are rounded to a large radius, including where the wall meets the floor. The entire surface is then painted flat white. Lights are mounted near the high ceiling, and gels -- colored filters of acetate or mylar -- are used to color the background without shining on the subject. Sometimes a slide will be projected to create the illusion of another place.

ولي همانطور كه ملاحظه مي فرمائيد، محدوديتي در طراحي سايكلوراما نيست، همين كه مقطع ديوار با زمين به صورت بدون درز (seamless) باشد و استوانه اي، آن را ميتوان سايكلوراما ناميد. حالا بعضي ها اين حالت را به سادگي و با فاصله دادن قسمت از بك گراند ( كه روي زمين ولواست) از ديوار انجام ميدهند. حال ممكن است در استوديو هاي گران قيمت اين اتفاق با چوب يا مواد مصنوعي انجام شود. و همينطور ممكن است براي عكاسي از اجسام بزرگ، در تقاطع سقف هم اجرا شود. اما راجع به انحنا و استوانه اي بودنش، همينطور كه از اسمش بر مي آيد، كاربرد آن است كه استفاده از همچين شكلي را لازم كرده، اگر شكلي زاويه دار باشد، ايجاد سايه ميكند كه مطلوب نيست.

سايكلوراما هم چيز خاصي نيست، كافي است بك گراند شما بلند تر از معمول باشد و قسمتي از آن روي زمين قرار گيرد. كاري است كه اكثر عكاسان مد و پرتره با بك گراند هاي كاغذي (seamless paper) يا پارچه اي (muslin) انجام ميدهند. (البته اغلب سايكلوراما سفيد است)
