این نامه یکی از دارنده این دوربین است به کانون ژاپن درباره فیلم HD این دوربین :
Dear Tim,
Thank you very much for your prompt and kind reply!

OK, you can check the issue yourself:
video-test1.bmp is a screen of my TX1-video of 1280x720 pixel. It looks quite soft:

After reducing the size of video-test1.bmp down to 848x480 pixel, you will get a sharper picture video-test2.bmp:

After resizing of video-test2.bmp up to 1280x720 pixel again, you will have an oversampled picture video-test12.bmp:
http://yfang.com/download/video-test12.bmp
You will see exactly the same (soft) picture as the original from TX1. This is a proof that TX1 doesn’t really produce a HD-video of 1280x720 pixel which should show more details like the 1280x720 pixel video of Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 (but only 15 fps).
It doesn’t surprise me very much that one cannot get a real HD-video with a camera in this price class. What bothers me most is that the faked HD-videos take more than doubled memory space as need (848x480=407040 pixel vs. 1280x720=921600 pixel).
I’d like to hear an explanation from Canon (Japan) for such a behavior.
Best regards,
Yang

INQUIRY:
Dear Sirs,
It turned out that your new camera PowerShot TX1 doesn't really have the
resolution of 1280x720 pixel as announced, but no more than 848x480
pixel. It is just a waste of space to save big oversampled video files:

Could you please give me an explanation for doing so?
Your sincerely,
